Your legacy isn't something you leave behind. It's something you build forward.
-Natasha M. Wilkins, Esq.
I’m a lawyer by training, a strategist by nature, and a legacy-builder at heart.
My journey started with a deep curiosity about how we make decisions — especially the ones that shape our futures. Studying Economics and Public Policy taught me about things like opportunity cost, and for the first time, I had words to describe how I already saw the world: My resources and energy are limited, but there are choices I can make that will maximize what I do have. That mindset has shaped my understanding of wealth, power, and the choices high-achieving individuals face every day.
I graduated magna cum laude from law school on a full-ride scholarship. As a second-generation law school graduate, I followed the recipe set before me; be a high achiever academically, get a career with a decent salary, and work hard until retirement. After a few years of jobs that required me to shrink or deny parts of who I am, and supervisors who did not understand how to manage a high-achieving Black woman, I realized that following this "recipe" would lead to a life of burnout, without the breakthroughs and generational freedom I wanted.
Though I had the degrees that said I should achieve wealth and success, what I did not have was the roadmap: how to use education as a tool to access careers, income, and opportunities that build generational freedom. That gap, between degrees and knowledge of how to create a life of legacy, is what drives me.
I created Her Legacy Ladder because I believe legacy is built on more than credentials — it's built on strategy, support, and a bold belief that your choices today can create the future you envision. I’ve helped high-achievers craft résumés that reflect their worth, write compelling personal statements, secure fellowships, confidently navigate salary negotiations and grad school admissions, and find joy in starting their journey to financial freedom.
I left my full-time legal career, to commit to this work because I believe the path to power and freedom is paved by access — and access is created through legacy.
